Kralik? After going through an extensive search it looks like this was made by Kralik, though I could not find a definitive source for this information. Comments?
Kralik?
Thanks for loving the three legged thing Roycroftbooksfromme1!
My comment would be that there is nothing substantive that links the impressed country name on the underside of the tripod feet to Kralik production. I would also state that I am not aware of any solidly identified shapes known to be Kralik forms that are found in this decor. Pieces like this can be extremely difficult to ID accurately.
Thanks for your comment, welzebub! The references I found were pretty unconvincingly expressed and without much conviction. Maybe, with the passing of years, new information will surface about this and similar pieces.
Thanks Karl-Fodor and philmac51!
I was wondering if someone could guesstimate an age for this piece?
ca 1925 - 1935 would be my take on it.
Could be Ruckl, if the mix is a 3 color spatter, yellow, red and orange. With clear glass surfaces inside and on exterior.
One of the Ruckl style of spatters has no uniform interior color glass layer. It is usually more subtle than that. As far as impressed marks, I have seen several with tiny spatters on small vases that have a feel of applied frit, which I think is Kralik, on a translucent blue glass interior.
So, no clear cut identification here, it is a very nice piece of deco-tango Czech glass.
The foot style, with the impressed country of origin, is a production detail that has never been linked to any production house that I am aware of.
@welzebub and truthordare - thanks for your comments and information.
Thanks for loving my item, truthordare!
The bowl has a fairly thick inner layer of clear glass and the spatter is applied over it in layers. There does not appear to be an outer layer of clear glass, unless it is very thin. The spatter is yellow, orange and red in order of amount.
