any ideas on this nice piece of art glass, it seems to be old. who made this and how old could it be? the glass fits in the top of the pitcher, but i'm not sure if that is meant to be the top

this was made by fenton...i think it was made in the 1920's. it is called vaseline stretch glass with an applied cobalt blue handle. it is called a night set or tumble-up. hope that helps.

Fenton- hobnail is correct. It is in the glass book that I have. It is #200 handled guest set made in the mid 1920s. These are hard to find. The topaz iridescent set like yours is valued at $350-$400 and with a blue handle you can ass 10%. Congrats! Great find!

LOL, I meant *ADD* 10%, not what it came out as...

thats funny :) Mrj303, thanks so much, I had no idea it is worth that much, did they make it in different colors? and it is in excellent condition

The price would be for a perfect condition piece with good iridescence. No chips, cracks, bubbles, scratches, etc. You may not get that full amount though as the market has gone down. BUT you only need one person who's looking for this piece for it to sell for what you want. There are many many Fenton collectors who will pay big bucks for what they want. And if you have 2 people who really want it and are willing to pay anything to get it it could go for more than that. I'd be curious to know what this goes for if you ever decide to let it go. Too rich for my blood lol. Good luck!

very nice. I agree this is a Fenton #200 stretch glass tumble-up or guest set. The color looks more like topaz with a cobalt handle from the images. It probably isn't vaseline as vaseline glass is the color of vaseline and glows brightly under black light. You can compare the color with others at Shetlar Glass and see what you think.
