I don't know anything about this 7" tall Urn Planter that was turned with precision. Salesman sample possibly?
This is a really fine piece of art and I am surprised to not see a signature on the base.
I retrieved it from an old house that I am cleaning out that was full of 1920's- 1960's collectables.
If you want to know if your stuff is dusty, take a photo of it using the flash and post it on here.

Nice. The shape of a planter, but will require a zink lining to protect it from moisture.

Lol....dust always finds some little crevice. You won’t be judged by me ‘cause I’ve got my share!

The zinc lining would be if I used it for a plant right? If I am just using as a shelf sitter it should not need any protection from moisture, should it? I would hate to see it crack.

Looks like it has a friction polish finish on it that will prevent cracking where the finish is applied. Easy way to tell is look for a dull spot, take a dry soft cotton cloth and rub it briskly using pressure. If that brings the shine back it has a friction polish finish. The heat created by rubbing re activates the polish and restores the shine. I always used friction polish on everything I turned. It makes an even glossy shine and customers love the fact they can restore the shine themselves.

Thank you all for the comments. I like the information about the friction polish as I did notice that it looked quite different and didn't understand why.

It looks like it is a very good Treen piece which was probably the star of the craft show with the exotic swirls in the exotic wood in the most classical form of vase. Treen is generally quite expensive, especially the later 80's when I was still on the lookout for the exceptional piece like this one.
