My second post of my vintage Aloha jacket made in British Hong Kong for the Sandwich Isles label.
100% cotton. Made exactly like the other one but not in a color that requires sun glasses to look at it!
This style was all the rage for the well dressed man in Honolulu in the 1960s!
I have 2 of the shirts made for the Sears Hawaii label. They must have been made prior to requirements of labeling fabric content and laundering instructions since there are no such labels in the shirts.

Beautiful vintage Hawaiian clothing
The tapa cloth pattern of the jacket is a Hawaiian classic. Styling with blue or green trousers, you'd be a stand-out at the tiki bar.

Brunswick, lol....Don Ho is a legend in Hawaii. I never got to see his show but I’ve been all around the grounds of the theatre in Waikiki where the performances were...it so beautiful at night with the tiki torches lighting the grounds, the warm ocean breeze, palm fronds gently swaying...it so different there. I swear, even the air smells different and the sun shines brighter thru clear skies....and there are a type of birds there that coo like pigeons (maybe they are pigeons)...I used to walk or ride my bicycle one mile to work- it was such a joy seeing and hearing the environment close up.
Oh, those were some memorable years.....(sigh)...But I do love Georgia and being near my family now.

Artfoot, sounds beautiful! I’m not sure what my sweetheart who owned them wore with them back then, except, I’m pretty sure he wore white shoes and a 2” wide white belt.

I noticed variations in the Sandwich Isle label:
My labels have the word, Honolulu, under the words, Sandwich Isles.
But my labels do not have the registered trademark symbol as one or two of the other jackets do.
I’m wondering if mine are just a tad older and the labels got modified a little during their hayday.
The style, 100% cotton fabric, bold patterns and colors are absolutely in the same family of jackets! I had not found any of those you found but it’s been a few years since I looked for them.
One thing I loved about living in Hawaii was that you could wear anything you wanted to and not worry if it was “in style”. There are so many visitors from all over the world who are wearing whatever they packed from their closets, that you see every sort of attire and nobody bats an eye.
I did have to steal a few glances, though, the first time I saw a very large man wearing a regular man’s shirt with collar and buttons, what looked like a woman’s straight mid-calf length wrap-around skirt in a print fabric, and flip flops.
My coworker filled me in: he was wearing a lavalava- traditional men’s garment in Samoa and other South Pacific islands.
To be honest- he looked so free and comfortable!
