This 3" pot is a 50 pence boot sale buy. I'm sure I've seen this pattern many times while searching for other things but I can't find it. Now identified on Glass Trinket Sets as above.

I think it is an art deco piece, maybe by Walter August Sohne 'Waltraut' Germany. I will post a small trinket dish that I have which is very similar. Your pot is very, very lovely indeed.

Thanks Gillian and Broochman. Gillian, having compared the two pots I don't think they're the same pattern, the finials are very different. I've looked all through Glass Trinket Sets and Pressglas-pavillon but found no match. There are a couple of photos online but they're unattributed so I'll keep looking.

Just found it in the Glass Trinket Sets mystery section so none the wiser.

Hi NevB - just to say it doesn't matter what the pattern is, it's the style and the size I was thinking of. It's such a pretty item.

Hello Gillian, I hope this doesn't seem patronising but yes August Walther & Sohne ( & Sons) were a German company who in the 1930's/ 40's made several patterns of trinket sets/pots. I have a few individual pieces of theirs and I've posted an Atlantik pattern pot as an example. "Waltraut" is actually the pattern name for your pot and after looking it up I've found it is a girls' name meaning "strong". Regards NevB.
