I came across this lovely Aynsley Cup and Saucer today. It's a rich burgundy colour with gold leaves painted on it. I have not found this colour in this pattern on the internet, but there are a few in cobalt blue. It probably dates from the 1970's (according to one listing on ebay!). It does have a chip on the rim, but it will be a lovely display item. When I was taking pictures of it, I couldn't get the colour right with a black background, it turned out too red.

So delicate. I'd like to try having a cup of tea from an Aynsley cup. I think it would be very difficult to hold. But, so beautiful to look at. Aynsley has the best decoration, and the best style. My favourite.
