Hello I have this vintage Buddha and I guess it is a incense burner of some sort, I am wondering if anyone can help me with more information about it please, it’s wood and wondering what kind of wood and where it might be from.

Enlarging the pictures makes the variations of color in the grain of the wood clearer. I would lean toward it being a Chinese Huali happy Buddha made of rosewood. Bottom appears to have been cut with a rotary blade which would make it not as old as some others. Older Asian craftsmen would have used a pull saw which leaves little or no sign of cut marks. Rotary blades came into play when items were mass produced as it was less time consuming and cut down on labor costs.
