These teacups and saucers were passed down from a grandmother that lived in New York City from the late 1920's until the 1950's. I would think she purchased them while living there. Would anyone happen to know what the pattern name is and what year it came out or anything else you could share about this china.

I love this pattern as well. Your teacups and saucers are beautiful. T&V stands for Tressmanes and Vogt. If you google that, you will find info; seems to be a type of Limoges. If you go to replacements.com and click on T (under alpha listing) and then click on TV Limoges and go to the gallery of images, there are 2 listings which feature dinnerplates that look very much like the pattern of your mother's teacups: TRV347,item#202334 and TRV208, item#142821. Maybe if you call replacements, they can give you more info. I would love to find items in this pattern myself. I think its gorgeous and your mother had excellent taste. You can register the pattern with replacements and they will notify you if and when additional pieces in that pattern become available. I've done that for both of these patterns. Sorry, your Grandmother's pattern. Also, if you google Tressmanes and Vogt, it will explain the mark. I also googled Greenleaf and Crosby. It appears that Limoges produced and decorated this pattern for this company, based in the South; Carolinas, maybe. That company is also listed with replacements.com but this pattern was not shown. Hi Joanny... nice to hear from you regarding the teacups, and thank you so much for the info you passed along. I had unsuccessfully searched on the Replacements website, but I wouldn't have known to look under TRV. The dessert plate TRV347 looks to be a match... I wasn't quite as sure about the other one. Do you think there were only teacups and dessert plates in these patterns or if there was dinner china too... good question huh!
I had found some info about Greenleaf & Crosby. They are still in business in Florida and it seems primarily high-end jewelry is what they are known for today. And I believe the article said they were coming up on their 150th year in business. At one time they had a store on 5th Avenue, so I'm sure that's where my grandmother's would have come from. I can only remember her having these two cups and saucers though. There was never a set of china.

These cups are so lovely. My mother left me two cups that are the same pattern however they are v shaped cups that are attached to the saucer. The also have the same name and numbers that you mentioned. I would love to know the name and any other additional information as well. I live in Florida so I can possibly contact the shop and see if I can find out anything. If I do I will repost. thank you all for your information. Marcia
Good to hear from you Marcia... that would be great if you could contact Greenleaf & Crosby, and if they had any info about the pattern wouldn't that be wonderful. The info I've found online is they are located in Palm Beach, Fla. at 236 Worth Ave. The phone # is 1-561-655-5850. Good luck and I will look forward to any further information.

I have a similar set that my late brother picked up at an estate sale. They were part of a breakfast set. I have seen the small coffee pot, milk pitcher and plates on eBay. They went for over $200 US so keep your pieces safe! I have footed fruit nappies and saucers, cups and saucers, cereal bowls and breakfast plates and a couple of footed serving bowls. Also a sugar bowl. The design of the china itself varies in shape, some more angular Deco shapes, some smooth and curled and there are more modern patterns as well as more traditional - all with oranges and gold trim.
That was $200 a piece.
Have never seen any name for this pattern but it is my favorite. The "newer" pieces have the simple gold band like your chocolate cup & saucer (picture on the left). Mr. & Mrs. Henry Flagler bought a complete set of the pattern as a wedding present for his personal secretary, William R. Kenan, Jr in 1904. Mr. Kenan's daughter donated the breakfast set to the Flagler Museum in Palm Beach and it is displayed in the pantry. Perhaps the museum knows the pattern name. Good luck!
Saw 1 dinner plate & two saucers of this "Florida" pattern in a second hand store in Ohio (that sold everything under including pure junk). Bought all three peices for $16.00, I had no idea they were worth anything more than that. I was just going to use the dinner plate as a wall hanging in dinningroom with some other missmatched plates. Very happy they are worth something, but now I'll never be able to get more. Style I got looks old & traditional, not modern shape at all.
I have a set of 8 footed grapefruit bowls and plates in the above pattern from my grandmother which date from the early 1900s. A set in this pattern is said to have been given by Mr and Mrs. Henry Flagler to the Kenan family and it is on display at Flagler Museum. My grandparents stayed at the Ponce de Leon Hotel in St. Augustine circa Christmas 1916 and may have bought the china then. What fun to find it is of value as well as beauty.
I recently inherited a set of 12 lunch plates. They are so lovely it is nice to find out more of their history. They were a wedding present to my Great-Grandmother in 1913 and I suspect that they were not new then.
Does anyone know when this pattern was made?
Dianne, u have a lovely set. I have been collecting T&V in the orange and grapefruit pattern for many years. They were sold in the Greenleaf & Crosby stores in Florida 100 years ago. There r catalogs about them issued by this chain of stores. My collection is many times that of what is exhibited in the Flagler museum. There is a lot more history about them. Hope u enjoy your collection.
Dianne, there are 2 citrus designs on your T&V. The small dark ones r oranges; the lighter yellow ones r grapefruits (although many people erroneously think they r peaches). It has been a lot of fun to collect them and I have a very large collection of both patterns that I have acquired over the past 30 years so if there is more info u r seeking about some of the strange shapes they come in let me know and I will try to help.
geecheereb, I have some small plates of an orange pattern that replacements.com calls trv714 (see http://replacements.com/webquote/TRVTRV714.htm). It has a gold medallion in the center of the plate, orange fruit, and gold scalloped rim. I'm just wondering if the cup with orange fruit pictured above is is the same pattern. The cup is beautiful! Also, I can see someone is selling a whole set of grapefruit pattern on eBay, who started bidding at $3500! Whew! Of course, it might not sell. I've heard that eBay is "high", but don't really know. Anyway, I'm going to give my plates away as a gift and am just trying to find out as much as I can about them. Thanks.
