Different from the usual overzealous exuberance of these Applied Flower vases, this one is quietly demure. The glass is vertically ribbed, clear with a blush of pink, and with an iridized exterior. The green winding is also iridized but the flower, fuchsia-like in color and structure, is not iridized. Vase stands 8" (20.3 cm) tall with a base diameter of 3" (7.6 cm).

This vase is certainly in the style of those made by Wilhelm Kralik Glassworks but in my catalog reproduction the vase shapes are so obscured by the applications it is impossible to make a direct connection and I don't want to rule out the likelihood that other companies made similar products.

Yes, demure but quietly confident - not brash like its cousins.

Never seen an upside down flower like this one - definitely something different, & I love it!

Thanks IronLace - I also thought this a bit unusual.

The flash can really distort the colors and the effect. You did not mention a mark on the base, I can't see one. Not so sure about Kralik, but they would the most likely contender. Thanks for posting, interesting vase.

Thanks Lisa - I didn't mention a mark because there isn't one. There also is no pontil scar which, to me, means that the hot-work application and the iridescence were done before this was sheared off the blow pipe. I agree that Kralik is the most likely producer.

It's just so pretty, delicate colours and form.
