We went for a visit to Dagfields, a huge Antique centre near Nantwich in Cheshire today. I think actual Antiques were in rather short supply, but plenty of collectibles. We came home with this pretty tea cup, 2 Midwinter Stonehenge plates, and some Harry Potter Lego!!
This tea cup is made by Alfred Meakin and is marked as hand engraved under glaze, whatever that means! I bought it because it has a picture of Ashness Bridge, which is near Keswick in the Lake District, which is where I went to school. We went there a few years ago, and the trees around it have grown up a lot obscuring the view of Derwentwater. I think this cup and saucer is from the 1950's - 60's.

Lovely pair & what a beautiful bridge, I think the artist did quite well capturing it

I love the photo with cup on the saucer where all of it shows a complete landscape with the bridge in the back and the man going fishing in the front. Very special with more dimensions.

The scenery is lovely to. I have been to the laskedistric once in the 90's, on the way to Scotland. If I lived in greatbritain I would go to the lake district meny times. A very beautiful place :)

It is a beautiful place, and I am lucky to have family living on the coast nearby, and only a couple of hours drive away.
