This summer I just happened to go into a thriftstore.... It was quite expensive there as it is in a small town that gets a lot of tourists in the summer. I saw this bowl amongst lots of stuff on a table. It stod out to me because it had a simple but elegant design. I could see my jewelry being stored in it.... I was surpriced when it was only about 2€. Had to buy it. I think it is what's called a liberty bowl? Maybe my CW friends from USA can correct me if I am wrong. The lady said she didn't know who made it but she remebered that she and her husband had bought it while visiting USA some time back. I forgot to ask when, stupid of me as I think they are still being made. Saw some larger ones in an interiordesign magazine with flowers in them.
It sais "Paul Revere reproduction VM A. Rogers". Would like to know who/what company made it or what ever could be said about that. What does VM stands for and who is A. Rogers? Is this vintage or contemporary?
I think it is silverplated and not silver because it lacks silvermarks. I used silverpolish and it came out shiny and wonderful.
Sorry half of me reflects in the bowl on the photo, hope you will not be blinded by my not so suntaned legs :) :)

I have not been able to find any information on the company. Don't know if this is of age or contemporary.
Wm A Rogers was employed by Oneida from 1929-1978.

Thankyou roycroftbooksfromme!! With the Oneida information I was more lucky googleing. There was a company called VM. A.Rogers Ltd founded in the 1890's and it was later bought by Oneida in 1929. It must be the same that you said. So this bowl is at least vintage from 1978 or so, that is wonderful news. I love it and think it will fit perfectly on my 1800s century desk because it has such a classic look yet modern. Thanks for your help I am grateful!
I understand why I didn't find any info. I missunderstood that VM A.Rogers should be red together and written together. Here we would read the name as A. Rogers and I thought the VM was short for the company. Such a simple error, I don't feel like Sherlock right now ha ha :)

My parents have a small one that they always kept M&Ms in, so they gave each child a similar bowl with a giant bag of M&Ms in it after graduating from college.
That inspired me to collect vintage Paul Revere-style bowls, but only ones found in thrift stores. It’s fun to find engraved ones! I’ve had to put that away now because polishing has become too difficult with me neck, but was fun and challenging to collect that way!
Sorry—“my” neck. As an addendum, they make great bowls for serving whipped cream at Thanksgiving. Be sure to only use with silver utensils or a chemical reaction will mar the silver plate.

I have one of these and it has a plastic liner inside to protect the inside of the bowl.
I. will post it after work today and then click "like" so our bowls will be posted together. I found mine at an estate sale years ago and just had to have it for some reason. Nice bowl, by the way.
TreasureTex Thanks! Like me, I also had to have it. Yes they are made buy different companies and some with plastic liner. Pratical if you want to have fruit in it or anything like that.
