I have been researching on line and can't find anything similar. Any guidance regarding the maker, possible date range when these were used, etc. I am assuming it is an early canning jar.

What are the dimensions? Can't find any clues on the bottom. Is there anything like a mark, embossing on the lid? Never seen a lid like that before. Who knows what's in there!
here go fish ...lol good luck

oops caught one ...lol
I don't believe this was ever made for canning. I remember the lid and the dimples on the sides of the jar. These came in the store with either butter or soft cheese in them. Standard size canning jar rubber seals wouldn't work with them.
Thanks so much for everyone's input.
@Gillian Thanks, I received an answer.
@Roycroftbooksfromme1: Dang! I searched all over Ebay and that never came up... Thanks..
