Recently acquired this antique ladderfback chair - My knowledge of English antique furniture is limited but from what I do know and considering the loss of height I estimate it dates from the middle of the 19th century; alternatively it could be a period reproduction. Although the applied tag has some loss my research tells me that it is from Pratt Brothers of Streatham SW. It appears the family Pratt was active in many commercial activities - I found a few references to the tag in auction records leading me to speculate that this Pratt Brothers was an antiques "dealer"? Welcome any/all comments/information/suggestions. Thanks

It was a department store in London active from the1850's to 1990. Wikipedia has an extensive description, search for "Pratts of Streatham"
