I love this little piggy bank! Made in Mexico - i think from the 1920s/30s. He's got a few issues, but i still really like him. I just really like old Mexican pottery.

Very cute pig! This fellow is nicely formed, good find
I think you are pretty much on the target for date and location but it is possible you are off just a tad. I have had a number of things I could trace myself or had appraised that were made by the Mayans in both Mexico and Guatemala. After the tariff act (1931 I think) the Mayans in Mexico started scratching the word MEXICO on the bottoms of their tourist items. There were usually no other markings at all except the designs on them to identify them.
thank you Newfld and fhrjr2! i'm going to disagree with you on this one fhrjr2. the country of origin mark was used very intermittently in Mexico. Usually things were made and sold in Mexico. They were then taken by individuals - tourists, etc. back to the states, so they didn't require the mark because they weren't being exported. i find a lot of Mexican pottery from all different periods and some is marked, but most are not.
