I got this beautiful train case for a song the other day, but I don't know anything about its age. The fabric on the exterior and interior is best described as a plastic-coated canvas, and the handle is a light-weight plastic. I think the tray is Lucite, but I don't know for sure. Can anyone share any information that will help me narrow its provenance to a specific decade? Thank you!
I don’t know if this is what I’m remembering or not but in the 1960s, we had bags called ChooChoo Bags. They were used as purses/handbags for a time....a fad that came and went quickly.
I owned one, as did just about every girl in school.
Yours may actually be “real luggage” but
Google ChooChoo bags to check them out/ compare to your bag.
Hi,
I have two 'vanity cases' that were around, as Watchsearcher says, in the 60's. The one in the this link is almost identical to one of mine, although in much, much better shape! The other is older.

I believe this one is from the 1930's. I had a larger suit case that looks very similar until just recently, mine had the two stripes around it also but, I decided to look it up by googling vintage eagle train case and yep, there is one for sale on Etsy stating 1930's. The ones from the 50's and 60's had slightly different shapes to them. My grandmother used to have quite a few, I followed suit. Yours here is in very sweet condition, the mirror AND the lucite holder. It's removeable too isn't it?
