Chair has been in the family since at least my Grandmother. So maybe made 1920-1950? My mother had it recovered. I think it used to have the puffy rolls down the back. Am I on the right track in my thinking? Any info is appreciated. Also would I have to remove the upholstery to find a makers stamp?

I've also wondered why the back on this chair is so large. I've decided it's a channel back, but my chair has one of the largest backs I've seen. Someone told me it was called a butterfly back, but I haven't been able to find anything similar.
