Coming back from painting I stopped at the Little Shop Around The Corner, a local thrift. And in it I found this beautiful Stouffer torte plate. An addition to my collection of Chicago Porcelain Studios work. This piece is 9 and 1/2" across. The pattern is similar to plate 836 in Alan Reed's Encyclopedia of Pickard in that there is gold border with platinum escutcheons. This pattern includes these orange conventionalized lilies. The signature is VEL which Reed says has not been identified. The mark is 1906-1914.
