A fine miniature human skull carved of ivory, possibly South German?
    Mounted on an ebony plinth.
I believe it is a very good quality carved piece
    Don't know how old...
    Any clues?

Ummm...maybe Victorian? I only say this because memento-mori pieces like this were popular then? I'm also wondering was it originally set unto something else hence the drilled hole through the teeth? It's very cool though

Have a look on google images for skull with cigarette and maybe that's what the hole in the teeth was originally for. Neil
