Love this bracelet and always happy to tell a story.
I bought this bracelet on Etsy, and the seller was a little stingy with images, only 2 and none that showed the whole bracelet. I had owned a very nice one of these about 10 years ago, and recognised the style and make.
Once arrived I was very disappointed, the bracelet nuggets had many losses, the bracelet was much smaller in proportion than the one I used to have and I certainly paid too much for what I got. The seller would not admit she sold it to me damaged and claimed it had been knocked around in transit.
She could not prove this because none of her images were close up and high resolution. She became very agitated when I asked to return it for a refund and declined. Long story short, I reversed the payment and was told to keep the bracelet. Etsy said it was not their problem....
The worse stone was a light amethyst in the center, which had been banged on top, and had fissures in the matrix, I had a nice boulder opal stone from a ring, which was another story of creative selling, it was a flat oval very subtle stone with small blue flashes in a brown matrix. I used this opal to replace the amethyst, and re-adjusted all the links with my small jewelry tools so it would fit and look good.
I want to show the result and also the original bracelet I am referring too. I love Mexican silver craftsmanship and their original and creative approach to jewelry sometimes.
4th image will be uploaded tomorrow, there is a disadvantage of having an archive with thousands of images......lol. Saving this post in the meantime.
Gorgeous silver bracelet Lisa, the stones are lovely and I really love the large claws holding them, great design. How often sellers are dishonest, I cannot tell you all the times I've been disappointed, you did a fantastic replacement job
Thanks Jenni, appreciate the kind words. Have a great day!
