    Shown in the photos is one of two similar, smallish baskets - I believe the technique is "twined". No evidence of any dye or other colorations - very simple but rather complex if simple woven patterns. Each measures about 8" across and 5" tall; I considered possibility that one was intended as the top for the other and while possible, I don't believe that was the case. My kowledge of baskets is quite limited but instinctively I thought possibly Native American or Asian . If there are any basket specialist viewing I would be interested in opinions regarding origin, age, etc. Thanks

      I am not at all sure but to my scandinavian eyes this looks like root work. I imagine that tecnique has been used in lots of places. Very nice basket nevertheless.
