Having just returned from another Saratoga sojourn, the final weekend of the season, as the racing season ends, as always, on Labor Day!
I did OK with the wagers, but it's a little bittersweet, as mentioned already the meet ends tomorrow, the horses, the gate guys and other workers will scatter to their other assignments, some will retire, some will not make the show next year, but the memories will remain, and they are all good ones! Hopefully we will meet up soon!!!!! Good luck to us all!!!!
A sure sign of Fall, the season's finale, and Labor Day! So let us take a cue from the squirrels, and prepare for less pleasant weather, knowing that the Sun will be greeting us this Spring!
An oddity, despite the weather cooling, and days shortening, the leaves in the Saratoga area have not turned in color as of yet, which is not usual!
Raise a toast to Olde Saratoga.....Peace and blessings to all!!!!!
Ted, I am so happy for you enjoying racing season at Saratoga this year. Though I only visited once many Augusts ago for the Whitney, it was a wonderful few days seeing the thoroughbred museum and an art show of beautiful horse paintings, having fabulous meals and attending one of our country's loveliest racecourses. I would also mention that Saratoga residents are among the nicest people one would ever want to meet, I rate them next to Hawaiians as among the friendliest folks I've ever encountered. I join you in raising a toast to Olde Saratoga!
Hey Ted. Don't push it. You will be complaining about snow soon enough ! LOL !!
Yes, Jenny...Saratoga is an indescribably wonderful place! And, it is true, the long time residents of The Spa City and its surrounding environs are really kind people. I am thankful for the time that I have spent there, and look forward to future visits.
You have great memories of your visit there, and perhaps you may return again at some point.
Thank you for your comment and insights!
Ha, ha, 'buss....yes the Fall and winter will be upon us soon enough! Gotta keep things in proper perspective ??????
