With just the number he would be hard to place, not to mention just a head shot. Funny thing though, when I first saw him he reminded me of a religious item before a doll (like a priest/monk or something) Of course the clothes are all wrong

      Hello again,

thanks for your quick answear,... you´re right about the first impact when you see the face.... Jesus came first into my mind, too :-)

The Head of the Doll is of findest Bisuque China and absolutely in a top condition

It has a length of 18,5 Inch

Of course the clothes are not original, the doll was found more than 20 years ago unclothed

Due to his little green discoloring on the body, I assume that he did wear the clothing of a chaser or a soldier many many years ago

      More pictures added above

      Nice greetings, Martin

In my opinion he is of a religious nature, possibly Greek orthodox? If he is all original he is very collectable because he appeals to several different collectors not just dolls, and can be worth some money. I have seen dolls like this but they are rare, and I'm not an expert by any means. I would take the doll with the pictures without the clothes and post him to the doll board on eBay. I'm not sure if the person who collects these are still there, but there are people there that can contact her still I think. I would think at the very least you could find a doll appraiser that can help you as he isn't an every day bisque doll.

Ignore the rude ones over there, and take what you can from those that are not rude. That is why most everyone that used to go there left, but there is still some good advice to be had.

I have seen this doll before it has been attributes to being German but never verified . The Mark 156 could be HERTEL, SCHWAB. It is a rare one ! And you might not see another in many yrs .
beautiful or should I say handsome doll. hanks for sharing him . There is no reference that he was a religous figure in the study of him .
