Found this great art pottery humidor. It is hand made with arts and craft glaze colors .. a hand fitted hammered copper lid. The potter has signed it. The clay is a light color. It’s about 6.5 inches high. Someone out there might recognise the signature makers mark. Thanks

Incredible piece! Have you checked the lid carefully for a mark - that might be of more use in attribution.

I’ve exhausted every guess I had but can’t find anything even remotely similar. Because of the mixed media, I suspect your humidor was produced by an arts community/consortium. One that produced both ceramics and copper wares. There were several circa 1900 into the early 30s. Roycroft is one example. If you don’t get an answer here, Rago Arts (ragoarts.com) would be an excellent resource. Contact them, they would be interested in a piece of that caliber.

And PLEASE post back here with what you find.

Thank you for your help. I didn’t think of looking at the lid for a mark.. I’ll do that.. I know this is a long shot but I was also looking at different early art pottery company’s ones with cyphers and the closes one to this is Overbeck. Elizabeth Overbeck There’s a pot with similar glazes and type of clay. It’s a guess. What do you think? Thanks

I’ve seen a few Overbeck pieces and all had consistent markings. You might contact the Overbeck museum for their opinion. They’ve seen hundreds of examples.

Thanks i will look into it... I looked too and most are latter pieces.. I broke the cypher down... I came up with the letters E O.. but you know how that is.
