Looking for information on the artist who created this piece of artwork that I inherited from my mother. The image is a pen and ink drawing of JFK on a fairly thick stock of paper, similar to watercolor paper. It has the artist’s mark in the lower right corner of the image. Written in pencil in the lower left are the words “Orig. Rendering” and on the right “ W. Peters”. The paper appears to have been pressed or embossed in a tight square around the image, with the penciled inscriptions just below the embossed bottom edge, as seen in the photos. I’d sincerely appreciate any information anyone can provide me regarding the artist and when it was created.
I fail to see the name Peters or anything close.
Your piece appears to be an etching produced with a plate. The plate was likely copper. You can tell it is an etching by the embossed edge all the way around the printed image. The design is etched into the plate. Once that step is completed, ink is applied to the plate in the etched area, and then pressed on paper to create the final result.
The German word "Radierung" means etching in English.

Maybe his name is Willi Peters. A German artist who lived between 1904 and 1977.
