I purchased this watch at a small estate sale about a month ago. On the front it is labeled as a Bradley (about 12) and (copyright sign + ) Walt Disney Productions under the 6. On the back it is labeled as Stainless Steel Back 020. It is the pie eyed Mickey with his tail down. After spending some time researching I only came across one comp with all of the same features. That watch was labled "Bradley Time Germany" on the inside of the back cover. It's listed for sale by a shop in California for $950 (https://mimosjewelry.com/products/mickey-mouse-watch). I opened my watch today and it has the same Germany notation in the same location inside. My watch runs beautifully but has a few scratches and minor age related issues. Is the watch that I obtained really similar in value of the one for sale in California? Is the one in California way over priced? Is the combo of Germany made & tail down the key to its value??? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks :)
very nice buy this is from the late 60s early 70s and 17 jewel is a little more desirable there is also one with no tread on the bottom of Mickey's shoe. the one you saw for 950.00 is way over priced in my opinion I see these for sale 40.00 t0 140.00 depending on condition and original packaging. the original box adds a lot of value and if it is new unused. I do not think the tail down has anything to do with it's value. being made in Germany might give it a little more the other ones are Swiss made. I just bought a white glove Mickey 17 jewel watch that was sold in Disneyland that was an error because of the white gloves and was recalled but they had already sold about 500 watches before they recalled so they are a little rare for 135.00 hope this helps, Mickey
I have the same watch and did as you did with the same results. However I saw another sold again in California for $695. So it could be a fad in Cali but what makes it rare is the hands. Most 17 jewel pie eyed of that era have one open hand not both pointing.
