Small brass? oriental figures | Collectors Weekly

Could someone please help me identify these small brass figures. We think they may have come from Japan right after WWII.
They are between 1 and 1.5 inches long, the back is concave and there is nothing to attach them to anything. A couple of them are reverse images like a pair.
