Early Photo, CA 1910.
See the delicious deserts tables, with home made things that surely
would have pleased any sweet tooth! One cook holds her fine cake, while
the tables are full of things that must have smelled wonderful, and would have
tasted even better. Oh, this was found in northern Maryland not far from Pennsylvania.
I am told that in those days everything was made from scratch. What a ton of work it must have been.
In the 1950s I was a hungry boy growing up, and my mom made many things like this from scratch.
It was so good!
