I got this a while back, it is Journeys Captured album, released in 1981 and it's a Promo copy with the Gold stamp on the back. The artist who designed this cover and others for Journey is Stanley "Mouse" Miller. He signed this cover and then it was sealed in a heavier plastic. The gold marker Stanley used smudged a bit on the plastic covering but it's still nice. I got this for very little money and it goes with my other signed Captured album cover art by Mouse.
Wow that is beautiful art Tlynnie, did he also do any covers for Earth Wind & Fire this so resembles one of theirs. Journey was a very cool band, nice posts!
Newfld, I wasn't able to find anything with EW&F. Mouse and Alton Kelley did The Grateful Dead, Steve Miller Band, Doobie Brothers, Journey and so many others but they also did concert posters. I would love to find a signed poster of Big Brother and the Holding Company but they are way out of my price range so far.
It's a beautiful piece of art, how lucky! I love Journey and have had the great good fortune to see them once live. They are still touring with a 'replacement' for Steve Perry. Good, but no one will ever replace Steve.
jeklstudio, I first heard Journey in 1976. I liked their sound and Gregg Rolie was damn handsome :) Plus, I knew both Neal and Gregg from Santana. But in 1978 at the World Series of Rock in Cleveland, Ohio I saw and heard a man who would change everything for me and for Journey: Steve Perry. I saw Journey in 78, 81, 83 and 86. And then I saw Steve in Vegas at the end of 1994. I hope to see him sing again sometime..hoping for something after the New Year.
This is AWESOME!!!!!! Wonderful find!!
Thanks, jscotto363 :)
