Hello everyone!!
I just acquired this pair of bronze ducks. I've researched these and found them in two online galleries. They were made in France between 1900 and 1919. I was impressed with the incredible detailing, right down the perfectly detailed web feet. They are signed on the bottom.
These are life size and rather heavy sculptures. They measure 13" long, 7 1/2" tall and 7" wide. They each weigh 11lbs and 12lbs respectively. All that these sculptures needed was a thorough cleaning as they had about 100 years of collected dust embedded in every feather. They also got a coat of transparent bronze wax and a good buffing afterwards.
Thanks very much for stopping in for a look!!!

Magnificent birds, what a wonderful addition to your collection! The feathers are beautifully detailed & the cleaning task must have been arduous but so worth it
Thank you Jenni!! I was careful not to disturb the natural patina. I used warm water, mild soap and let them air dry afterwards. Took no more than an hour of time.
Well these are ducky...smiling ...really nice scott..
Thank you Ken!! Most of my collection is stored away in conditioned storage. But, I'm keeping these out on display in our great room.
