Interesting CSA letter granting safe pass through the Confederate line into the USA by a family o their way to England signed by John Archibald Campbell (6/24/11-3/12/89) a successful lawyer and legislator in Georgia and Alabama. He was appointed to SCOTUS by Franklin Pierce in 1853 and served until breakout of the American Civil War when he took a government post with the CSA. After the war he served 6 months in Prison then resumed a law practice in New Orleans. He opposed Reconstruction.
