    I'm looking for info on this tool. The only markings on it are a 1 and 2 stamped into the castings. I assume this is a mass produced tool because of the heavy castings. It looks to be a jar lid remover. I don't know if it is also part of a kit. I can't find it any where on the net.
    The threaded shaft is 5/16 x 18. There for I suspect American made.
    The #2 jaw is fixed by solid steel roll pins. It does rotate on the shaft.
    The #1 jaw moves by screwing the shaft in or out.
    The handle is wood with enamel white paint.

      I think you are correct about it being a jar opener.
