I've owned these since 1979. I know the backside mark/stamp reads 925 within a raised bar, but I cannot read the other mark it is super tiny. The dangles have a half moon and star on each. Designed to look like old coins. Does anyone know who may of made these? Thank you.

I do not know who made these, but the figures in the main portion of the earrings reminds me of central, and South American figures. They strike me as similar in some ways to the Nazca lines in the arid regions of southern Peru. The style of work also reminds me of central and South American silver work. Hope that helps.

The second impressed metal disc has the Turkish country flag symbol. I was told by our local jeweler who was Middle Eastern, and retired now, that Turkey was a great producer of silver jewelry. Just another direction and opinion about identity.

The Turkish flag symbol is a crescent and a 5 point star. In that case, the star is always shown outside of the crescent symbol. In this case, the image is a 4 point star, and seems to be shown inside of the crescent. The symbolism of a 4 point star is different than that of a 5 point star. 4 point stars have some strong symbolic meanings in Christianity.

The 5 point star and crescent symbolism has been used on flags from several countries through the years, to include Turkey, Algeria, Lybia, Tunisia, Azerbaijan, Pakistan, and Northern Cyprus.

Suffice it to say that none of those countries are in South America. I think the workmanship is hand done, primitive and very old, maybe some old coins.

I said it looked to possibly be South American, did not say it was. Unlike erroneously stating that the lower figure contained the Turkish Flag.

I just figured the OP deserved some accurate information, and the claim of it being a Turkish flag was far from that.

I would add that since it is not a "5 pointed star and a crescent" as found on those flags, it's source and the meaning of it's symbolism is still unknown. That would also indicate that it's country of origin is also still unknown. But I do agree, none of those countries using a crescent and "5 POINTED STAR" on their flags are in South America, but since there is not a 5 pointed star on the earring, that is really kind of a moot point I think. :-)
