Hello everyone!!
Another rabbit in my collection. This is a reproduction of the A.C. Williams "Begging Rabbit" still bank. It's a nicely done reproduction, but instead of it being made of cast iron, this one is made of cast brass. That's how we know it's a reproduction. The original was made of cast iron and painted gold. I believe this one was cast from the original molds of the cast iron version and the exact dimensions of the original, which was first produced in the very early 1900's. It measures just under 5" tall. Though he's a reproduction I still like him, especially since I only paid $5.00 for him.
Thanks for stopping in for a look!!

Thank you all so very much for the loves and for taking the time to stop by!!!
I'm glad I found this site, I am learning a lot, my husband and i inherited a home from his grandma and we found really old stuff in the attic.. I found a elephant, a lion and a globe the same as these all cast iron.. I was wondering what they were. For as little as they are they are very heavy, the way they made things back many, many years ago..
Hi WideAwake247,
I checked out your still banks and I really love them, especially the globe. I love finding old stuff and doing a bit of sleuthing to try and find out more about them.

You're absolutely correct. Back in the day, there were mechanical banks and the non-mechanical banks were referred to as still banks.
Thanks Rose for the love and for stopping in!!
