Hello fellow jewelry lovers! It is early saturday morning here and I can't sleep :). So I am looking through some photos from this summer and decided to let this photo be a mini quizz for my jewelry friends here. I love the blue in this necklace and earrings because it is so intence. Can you guess when these were made? No googleing, just tell me from the heart. It is not a test of your knowledge but just for fun.
Love from Elisabeth
Georgian.
Really, really gorgeous blue necklace & earrings, love them!
Yes, Vetraio! Georgian, and gorgeous!
I love that color :-D
Hi they are cool.. I would guess 1940s
That period when cliché like gone with the wind was really in season.Very nice aND adorable.
Thanks for guessing and writing your nice coments:) I saw this at the jewelry exibition at the nordic museum of Stockholm this summer. They show old and contemporary jewelry in an interesting mix. My first thought was that it was costume revival jewelry from about like 1930-1950 made to be worn as hig end pieces to fit a fantastic ballgown. The blue color is so vibrant.
I was surpriced when I red the sign, see photo that I add. Thanks for stopping by :)
And I must say a few of you where spot on! I was surpriced that they used such bright colors like that blue. It looks more modern than other paste jewelry I have seen.
And sorry for saying that you all "guessed" some of you might have seen similar pieces before even if I have not :) :)
Wow! I would have never known although the back of the necklace gives a good hint of age. It's just gorgeous!!!
Yes Shareurpassion I wondered why I didn't think of the back with the fabric but I guess I thought that if it had been that old the bands would look even more used, I mean that meny years of use, perfume etc?! :) But mostly the colors of the glass made me think they could not be really old :) But I was wrong. I love finding pieces like this, that is not what you would expect.
Lots of love and happy collectors moments to you Vetraio, Newfld, Kyratango, Pglenn, Valentino and Shareurpassion for your answers.
And ya know, there are many times we come across things, at least I know I do this more than I'd like to think but working on that, but we see a piece and miss the obvious thing. This choker is just so gorgeous!!!
I love your beautiful pieces especially the color which I don't see everyday. This collection is difinataly vintage.
Thanks Gonavy, it is 18th century. So antique not vintage.
I stand corrected antique and still beautiful pieces.
