Not sure what this is I have found in my attic. I called it a treasure box, it's very heavy and found these what looks to be old dice, and maybe very old marbles maybe hand made???

It's a wonderful box and definitely has quite a bit of age on it, including the contents. Appears to be made of brass.

Wow! Looks like the things I have a thing about collecting too. I love old dice and marbles. I don't have any wood marbles though. You are correct, these are old wooden marbles and those dice are made of ivory, I believe. They usually are when they turn that color. Can you see lines (striations) going thru the dice? I also believe the old wooden marbles were made in Germany. Not positive about that, but I think i'm right. I'll see if I can find it. There are plenty of sites with tons of marble examples.

Here's one to get you started learning about them.

      https://ourpastimes.com/identify-rare-marbles-6567656.html

Then in the search bar within the site, type in antique wooden marbles, or just wooden marbles.

Welcome to CW by the way. You seem like you are really going to enjoy being here!

What a find. I just love those moments as you open the box for the first time. The contents of your box look to be of some age and of some value.
      Great stuff !
I'm looking forward to your next post. Neil
