This guy is a knock off of a series of monkeys from Progressive Arts. They did a series of chalk ware type statues of monkeys as a surfer, lawyer, cop, fireman, baseball player, etc. They were done from 1968 through 1979. Rough casts were made of the originals in the 80s and later and reproduced en mass. Most often found in Tijuana. You have the doctor version. Although you don't see them glazed too often.
