One day while scouring a local thrift shop in pursuit
of some nice clothing for a man in need from our
church, I found this wonderful half-doll lamp.
Needless to say, I quickly grabbed it and took
it to the counter to pay for it. There were
several other customers at the counter, and
they were all looking at me like I was crazy for
buying the lamp. Little did they know!
My intent was to use it on my "tea porch" on
the front of our home, but the color was too
bright. I was so disapointed until I realized that
she would be wonderful in our bedroom.
I don't know much about collectibles, I just know
what I love and what works with my other decor.
My belief is that the lamp is probably from the
early 50's.
Several of my friends, fellow junque lovers, have
threatened to sneak in while I am not home and
take her home with them.
It is still hard for me to believe that I found such
a lovely lamp in such pristine condition. The Lord is
good.......seems that each time I go out looking to
find something for someone else, He allows these
old eyes of mine to find a treasure for me as well.
Grand fine, my dearie! Can't blame your friends
for wanting it for their very own! Very rare to
find in this condition. Must comment also on the
bedroom........love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
