Wondering if anyone has seen a chair like this. I can’t find anything online that looks like it and would love to know more about it.

I don't see anything unusual. It is a vintage chair with a turnbuckle to tighten the stretchers. What is it you find unusual??

Fhrjr2: I did not know it was called a turnbuckle. I’ve never seen a chair with anything like it before. Since I could not find anything that resembles it in my google search I thought perhaps it was unique. But now I’ve learned something new so thank you!

ChristinaB you must be a youngster. Years ago the turnbuckle was a common rapair so you didn't have to buy a new chair. Chairs weren't always well made and people would rock back on the hind legs which caused the stretchers to pop out of the legs. Using the wires and turnbuckle you could pull everything back together and later tighten it again as needed. It wasn't something rich people did but it was perfect for poor folks that couldn't afford a new chair.
