Although Kralik made a similar decor, the opal glass on this one is different. The Kralik opal glass is not typically UV reactive, and this one is. Also, the multicolor thread decoration details are finer and more subtle on this piece (see the last photo). The shape, when compared to some other Pallme-Koenig pieces I have (see second photo) lead me to believe that the producer of this piece is mostly likely a Teplitz area firm, and most likely PK.
Beautiful piece. Congratulations. In PASK Klatovy there are 2 vases with this decor. Maybe Loetz ??? Another mystery.
Ales, I photographed those when we were there also. I would only say that Loetz opal glass is typically not UV reactive, either. We have also been unable to find any reference to either the décor or the shape in the Loetz literature.
I agree. Only gap 1901-1902 ?? About these vases I asked dr. Lnenickova. She is convinced that this is definitely Loetz. ???
I know she is - if she has evidence, I'd love to see it.
Hi Warren, If you get time, could you take a look at the other example of this decor I found? I am very curious to know who you think made it. Thanks!
I. have been looking for a bohemian (?) cut to clear cake dome/underplate for the past year. I was told by a retailer from EBAY that he sold 2 of them, 2 years ago. He told me the are fm Czechoslovakia. Have you ever came across one? It comes as ruby red or cobalt blue. Thanks
