I also picked this Trio up in a Charity Shop. This is the most popular pattern of Chinese pottery, and I actually thought that it was made with a grain of rice inserted in, but apparently a hole has been cut in before it is glazed then the glaze fills the hole. I bought it because in the 60's when my family lived in Malaysia for a while, my mum brought a load of this type of pottery to take home, and it was all broken en route! This is probably very modern and is still made today.
