Sterling Silver Burlaps Fan?
I purchase this from an estate of an Ambassador where there were many great items.
This is what I believe to be a fan but I could be wrong.
Measures: 12 3/4 inches.
The handle or shaft is decorated with roses and swirl motif.
The textile is made of some sort of straw.
Please, if anyone has any information about this item can you please share it with me.

How interesting! I wonder if this elegant looking little thing was for use at the dining table to fan flies/gnats away from the food in the days before window screens.
Never have seen its like ..... wonderful !!!!
