I purchased this at a thrift shop today.
The flowers I am absolutely positive are ivory. However I know the setting in the gold like frame it's in doesn't imply it's an antique. Is it possible that it could have been redone due to some reason.
I'd like and really appreciate your opinion
Broocheman.
It's beautiful!
Thank you very much.??
Very similar cameo flower arrangement for sale on line says "moulded resin" with similar coloring. Ivory fluoresces under black light. Search on line for blue cameo floral brooch to see similar beauties.
I can see from the photos that it must be very pretty when worn, but they are not sharp enough or close enough to say much more. Walburn is correct that there are other floral cameos with exactly the same flowers, e.g., eBay item # 203025185141. No 2 cameos, even the same subject by the same hand, are ever identical. When you can find 2 or more that are an exact match, you know you are looking at something molded.
This one is unusual in being on a translucent background. Can't tell from here whether it is glass or a Lucite-type material.
In my experience ivory does not fluoresce in UV light, but it does look different from the majority of other materials. It is more like it sucks it up instead of reflecting it back & stays closer to looking its true color.
