This 2 1-2"W brooch is a fancy hummingbird design with white enamel wings, a coral belly, green eye and rhinestone choker necklace, on goldtone. By Jomaz (1923-1981) ca 1950s-1960s

WOW!! Such a BEAUTIFUL brooch!!
Coral pink is a rather unusual colour for a hummingbird I think- but I like it! I like his pose- it makes me think he's sitting on a branch obsessively preening with one wing held outwards and the little green eye slightly narrowed makes it seems like he's annoyed to have been interrupted too!

Oh yes Eileen, Jomaz is usually very pricey which is why I own so few, you know I am rather hummingbird crazy so this design really drew me in, and I am delighted you loved it too & am totally grateful for the wonderful praise & picture of it dancing or maybe even curtseying (I just saw the Downton Abbey movie lol)

Maureen thank you for the super compliments, the fates seemed to be for Jomaz this wk as first your lovely bracelet and then I had this photo shoot of the hummer ready to post so hoped you wouldn't mind, I've been focusing more on buying glass animals than jewelry since moving (lots of glass losses unfortunately) so my jewelry collection has been suffering & needs replenishing for new designers

the white enamel and coral seem to work well,.. offen they use brass or crome //..nice find Jenni......
Thank you Roycroft for the super compliment, yes I think the white enamel & coral work well together here, have also seen this design in other colors and perhaps brass & chrome is another way to go, the designer really captured the beating wings of the hummingbird I think :)
