I am baffled! I have had a necklace and matching earrings and never thought twice about them until I started learning about the history of jewelry. The first thing I noticed was that the earrings were 'screw-on' with an interesting earring back, then I realized both pieces were set in 14k gold. Each orange stone is approx. 1/2 inch long. When I brought the items to my local jeweler in hopes he had more information, he told me the orange "beads" were amber! Any way to find out if they really are? And what type?
As for the earrings, I own screw-on pierced earrings, but the back on the pair here looks nothing like the other pair. It would make sense that because you have to screw the earring back on, and not just put them on, that these earrings may be more valuable, but I can't be sure of anything.
If you can help me identify these items I would appreciate it immensely. There are no makers marks, hallmarks, nothing to tell me anything about when, where and how these pieces came to be. I would appreciate any help, or leads on these beautiful items.
Thank you for helping me!
