Hello, I purchased this basket at a garage sale, it was hidden among lots of items and I had to dig it out. Can someone please tell me what it is? What is it's origin? It appears to be Native American. It is made of bark and twigs, willow perhaps?
    Thanks!

It looks to be made out of banana leaves, so I do not think it is Native American.

Thank-You, I will go check history of baskets with banana leaves.

I checked baskets made of Banana Leaves, and the texture is different than mine. (hard to see it in the picture I uploaded) My basket is more of a burlap feel. Does anyone have any links that show the basket I have? Thanks!

Ok, then I would check hawaiian baskets next.

      Hi!
I just found another basket, just like yours. It does not really say much about it but I thought you might want to look at it. It is on Ebay, item number 290602491252. Check it out.

      Hi Tlynnie1942,
I checked out the e-bay listing and it seems she is just as stumped as me. I have explored 100's of images and websites and cannot locate this basket! I' am not even sure of the material as of yet. Cococut? I thought...but it is not the same as I saw coconut baskets in the store. Palm? Perhaps, but no definite leaf texture on it to determine. Here is another clue for you if perhaps it is important...the basket does have a "ODOR" not a bad odor, kind of "WOODSY?" this item now has me stumped!
