Found this brooch in a stash of "costume jewelry" that yielded this and 4 gold rings, 1 gold bracelet, and a Chanel necklace. 103 round cut diamond, 7 baguette cut diamond, 3 round sapphire. No hallmark or makers mark, trying to figure who made this. Closest appears to be Oscar Heyman based on the construction...sort of hit bottleneck doing research on this. But i almost passed out from excitement when i pulled this out!
Gorgeous flower it's perfection, nice find!
This is downright amazing. The haul you described in a costume jewelry stash is totally crazy. Was this an estate sale, auction, buried in a treasure chest on a desert island? Wow, just wow. Congratulations!
Thank you all, really appreciate the feedbacks! Honestly i was floored myself. It was one of those online only local estate sales (Maxsold) and honestly when i was looking at the lot i did not for a second thought they are anything more than costume. Paid $50, and there are the following items: a heavy 14k jade ball cluster cocktail ring, a 14k cameo with diamond ring, a 14k diamond and intaglio reversible ring, a 14k onyx bracelet, an 18k diamond tennis bracelet, an 18k designer signed pave cocktail ring, a Chanel S/S 2008 pave rhinestone necklace, 3 chunky sterling silver cocktail ring, a vermeil silver milor necklace, a bunch of signed costume from Coro, and of course the holy grail the brooch! It wasn't marked or it worn off but believe me when i dumped out the lot and picked that brooch up i could sworn i see my life flashes before my eyes and started to bawl like a stupid. Haha... The thing that surprises me is the sale was up for a whole week and i wish i could show the page, because i am sure i was not the only person who brushed it off as costume jewelry lot or take the title for its' words. Once again, Thank you all! I dont know what i did right but sharing good vibes to all, that it is possible to find treasures where it is unexpected.
There is a light smudge that may or may not be a mark of some sort once upon a time, but yeah, i looked at the whole thing under a microscope at 15X magnification. Sent it to an appraiser so fingers crossed.
It is platinum. 3.20 carat diamond.
That is indeed SUPERB!
Lucky lot, and you have a good eye ;-)
Congratulations!
