    (367 items)

I'm calling these Kralik - the basic shape and the style of workmanship implies that attribution. Each stands a little over 8¼" (around 21 cm) tall with a 2" (5 cm) diameter base. The somewhat unusual "jack-in-pulpit" throats spread to 3½" (8.8 cm). The glass is a golden color with in-mold vertical striations. The JIP throats have added dabs of pink. The applied flowers are transparent light pink with splashes of darker pink and with clear stems and transparent green leaves. The undersides are unmarked and have raw pontil scars.

These are a mirror-image pair - you may notice that the leaves are on opposite sides. This find makes me wonder if possibly many of these "Applied Flower" vases originally hit the market as matched pairs, only to be separated later in their lives.

These are great - my kind of glass in every way. Here's some other shapes in the same decor:

I agree about the mirror pairs - they are rarely seen, but it makes sense that when the items were originally produced that this would have been the intention. Of course, the intervening years were often unkind, splitting up pairs through loss & damage.
This is the only mirror image pair with applied decoration that I've been fortunate enough to acquire (& nothing to do with your pair in terms of decor, so they're shown simply as an example of a mirror image pair)

Thanks IL - I knew you were going to like these. And thanks for the links - your basket, especially, looks like it belongs with these.

Just to add about pairs splitting up - the seller of these had them priced separately.

My pleasure, artfoot, & it is always nice to see this type of glass being appreciated.
Funnily enough, I bought my "mirror" pair one at a time, as the seller was okay to split them up, but I let him know that I'd be back for the second one as soon as I had the funds, so it was kindly kept aside for me!

Love these and anything with applied flowers.

I have a similar one posted here on the left: https://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/20865-two-more-applied-flower-art-glass-vases

Mine is a lone survivor. Base color shows much more of an amber against a lighter background.

Gorgeous.....and the most sumptuous JIP vases I've ever seen!
