Saw this 8' sofa and fell in love. A relative guessed it is 1960s and I guessed at it being Hollywood Regency.
Does this sofa look familiar to anyone? Or does anyone have any idea as to the manufacturer? There are no tags on it and I haven't been able to find one online to get additional information about it.
I paid $0.00 for it, but I know it needs to be repaired and reupholstered. I called a local furniture repair & restoration company - they told me if it's not worth doing the work then they won't do it since they don't want to waste their time or my money. I am hoping this will be worth it!!!
Why don’t you just have it professionally cleaned?
You could refinish those scuffed up legs yourself.

When I went to collect it, I found out that the dirty upholstery was not the only issue - multiple 2x4s had been hammered into the underside of the sofa.
I was still willing to take it, but I called a furniture repair/restoration company to explain what I had. They said the 2x4s are most likely holding broken sofa springs in place (verified when I flipped it on its back) and it can be repaired - but due to how vintage furniture was made it requires being torn down completely to repair the springs. There are 3 legs in front but only 2 in back, and that also has some bearing on whether it's worth fixing or not (due to potential rough use/abuse over the years and the resulting damage).
I'm using it 'as-is' now but am not really thrilled having to cover it with a sheet/tarp/blanket. Also, I have a cat with claws and am trying to keep it from scratching it up. Also, I have yet to decide on new upholstery fabric should it be worth repairing and reupholstering.
