This 2 3-4" textured goldtone sea shell brooch has numerous tiny white rhinestones on its surface which are very reflective. From Hobe (1927-1995) ca 1950s

Beautiful!! I think Rob is correct. I too believe this would be a scallop shell.

Ken thank you very much for the always kind compliments, I am delighted that you enjoyed this shell brooch
Thanks Eileen for the lovely compliments, this is an old Hobe I bought from rl yrs ago, it may be a simple design but the little rhinestone chips really make it glow so I love it. Always grateful for the kind words
Super grateful for the great comments bobby, Scott and junkbuddy regarding the scallop shell, I agree with you it most certainly can be called that, except the lady I purchased this from called it a clam shell and that could have been the original title (we are talking 1950s, perhaps they were thinking of a clam shell jewelry box) so let's just call it a seashell OK, if you ever find out the original Hobe title please let me know. At any rate, it's a mollusk lol!
Very realistic design! Nice find!
Many thanks for the kind love

I know. I know junkbuddy it's a scallop shell, then why called a clamshell when I bought it, it could have been a designer choice. Thank you for the link though!
Aw thanks bobby, I'm easy so no prob, try to never get involved in controversy life's too short lol....it's a forum, free to say it as you see it, and I figured calling it a sea shell should please all, though your scallop is most probably the right one here (in reality, but if you look at clamshell jewelry boxes they are formed that way! :)
I know you know the diffrence , but dont think they did .... smiling here's a peace offer '-))
