Came across this cloisonne bowl at a DC area estate sale - Initially I thought it was Chinese but upon closer inspection I'm thinking more likely Japanese. The visible metal has the appearance of silver. It has a simple impressed mark on the bottom (see photo); coincidentally the mark looks (to my unschooled eyes) similar to that on the vase I recently posted - not from the same sale. Would welcome any/all comments regarding likely origin, age and, of course, the identity of the maker. It measures just under 6" across. Thanks

      Love these!

It is a popular post 1950s INABA studio cloisonne bowl, they were producing cloisonne for about 100 years, from 1880 to 1980 or so.

These were exported to USA in all kinds of decorative shapes and pieces, It was one of their signature cloisonne decors. Both the Ando studio and Inaba were exporting during this time in USA. I owned a few of their more modern pieces, and yes the wires are silver, and the mark is called the baseball mark for Inaba.
